Miss Wilmington Joanna Wicks was crowned Miss Delaware 2018 on Saturday at Cape Henlopen High School, marking 76 years of the Miss Delaware Scholarship Organization's annual contest.  

Thirteen contestants were judged on four criteria: swimsuit, formal, question, and talent. Wicks' platform sought to bring awareness of domestic violence in communities of color.

Runners up were: Lauren Haberstroh, Miss Newark, 4th; Riley Slate, MIss Greenville, 3rd; Emily Beale, Miss Blue Gold, 2nd; and Rebecca Gasperetti, Miss Hockessin, 1st.

Wicks will head to Atlantic City, New Jersey, to compete in the Miss America contest on Sept. 9.
