A 50-year-old Wilmington man, who picked his own numbers, won $50,000 in the Powerball drawing Saturday, according to Delaware Lottery officials.

The winner claimed his prize for matching four numbers and the Powerball on Monday. He had one of the three tickets that won $50,000 in Delaware in Saturday's drawing.

Saturday's winning numbers were 08-12-13-19-27 and Powerball 04. The Power Play was 3. The estimated $687.8 million jackpot was split by tickets sold in Iowa and New York.

UNCLAIMED LOTTERY PRIZES:Six big Delaware Lottery winners have yet to come forward

The Wilmington man, who wished to remain anonymous, bought three Powerball tickets from Star Gas & Diesel on Kirkwood Highway in Milltown.

He told officials that he always picks his own numbers, and this time he used family members' birthdays.

“I still can’t believe it,” he said. “I don’t have this kind of luck.

“I was watching the drawing on TV and was half dosing off (when the drawing happened). I already knew the numbers, so I knew right away (about winning).”

He said he would help his son with a down payment on a house. "Maybe I'll take a vacation, too," he said.

Delaware still has at least two big unclaimed lottery prizes.

A Multi-Win Lotto ticket worth $59,100 was sold for the Dec. 29 drawing at Redner's Warehouse Market, 25 Greentree Drive, Dover. The winning numbers are 01-03-09-13-31-33.

A Mega Millions ticket worth $10,000 was sold for the Jan. 2 drawing at Shore Stop, 1612 S. Du Pont Highway, Dover. The winning numbers are 01-42-47-64-70 and Mega Ball 22. The Megaplier is 4.

Delaware Lottery winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. Claims on prizes worth more than $5,000 must be made at the Delaware Lottery Office, 1575 McKee Road, Suite 102, in Dover.

If a prize goes unclaimed, the money is returned to the Delaware general fund.
