Two $50,000 Powerball prizes have been claimed this week, but six other big Delaware Lottery prizes – including a $100,000 prize – remain unclaimed.

Four of the unclaimed prizes were won this month when lottery fever hit the nation with the big Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots.

These are the unclaimed prizes, the game, drawing date, where the tickets were sold and the winning numbers:

  • $50,000 in Powerball on Oct. 27 at Shoprite, 1101 Governor's Place, Governor's Square Shopping Center, Bear. The winning numbers: 08-12-13-19-27 and Powerball 04.
  • $10,000 in Mega Millions on Oct. 26 at New Castle Spirits, 738 Ferry Cut Off Road, New Castle. The winning numbers: 01-28-61-62-63 and Mega Ball 05.

  • $10,000 in Mega Millions on Jan. 2 at Stop Stop No. 266, 1612 S. Du Pont Highway, Dover. The winning numbers: 01-42-47-64-70 and Mega Ball 22.
  • $59,100 in Multi-Win Lotto on Dec. 29 at Redner's Warehouse Market, 25 Greentree Drive, Dover. The winning numbers: 01-03-09-13-31-33.

Delaware Lottery winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. Claims on prizes worth more than $5,000 must be made at the Delaware Lottery Office, 1575 McKee Road, Suite 102, in Dover.

If a prize goes unclaimed, the money is returned to the Delaware general fund.

On Tuesday, 13 co-workers turned in the second of three Powerball tickets sold in Delaware worth $50,000, Delaware Lottery officials said Wednesday. The third ticket is one of those that haven't been turned in yet.

Each co-worker will get $2,922 after taxes for their ticket that matched four numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Saturday.

The co-workers, who wish to remain anonymous, bought their ticket at Acme in the Pike Creek Shopping Center in Pike Creek.

The group, which has been playing together for four years, told officials that tickets are always bought using Quick Pick but that the place of purchase depends on who collects the money.

Despite the win, the co-workers won't stop playing the lottery. When asked if they would continue to play, one of them said, “Sure, now more than ever!”

On Monday, a 50-year-old Wilmington man, who picked his own numbers, claimed the first $50,000 prize from the Powerball drawing Saturday, lottery officials said.

The Wilmington man, who wished to remain anonymous, bought three Powerball tickets from Star Gas & Diesel on Kirkwood Highway in Milltown.

He told officials that he always picks his own numbers, and this time he used family members' birthdays.

“I still can’t believe it,” he said. “I don’t have this kind of luck."

The man told officials that he would help his son with a down payment on a house and maybe take a vacation.

Saturday's estimated $687.8 million Powerball jackpot was split by tickets sold in Iowa and New York.
