Delaware Lottery: Four prizes worth $10,000 or more remain unclaimed

Have any lottery tickets sitting around that you've never bothered to check for a win?

The Delaware Lottery has four unclaimed prizes worth $10,000 or more dating back to October.

Here they are with the drawing date, game, prize amount, the retailer that sold the ticket and the winning numbers:

  • Oct. 26: Mega Millions, $10,000 – New Castle Spirits, 738 Ferry Cut Off Road, New Castle – 01-28-61-62-63, Mega Ball 23.
  • Dec. 18: Mega Millions, $10,000 – Sunoco A-Plus, 1500 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere – 13-22-32-60-69 and Mega Ball 09.
  • Dec. 26: Powerball, $50,000 – Royal Farms, 30983 Sussex Highway, near Laurel – 05-25-38-52-67 and Powerball 24.
  • Jan. 1: Mega Millions, $1 million – Atlantic Liquors, 19108 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach – 34-44-57-62-70 and Mega Ball 14.

Recently, two big prizes went unclaimed: a $59,100 Multi-Win Lotto prize for the Dec. 29, 2017, drawing, sold at Redner's in Dover, and a $10,000 Mega Millions prize for the Jan. 2, 2018, drawing, sold at Shore Stop No. 266 in Dover.

A $50,000 Powerball ticket sold for the May 24, 2017, drawing also went unclaimed last year. The winning ticket was sold at the Sunoco at the Delaware House Travel Plaza along I-95.

Delaware Lottery prizes are valid for one year after the drawing date. Unclaimed prize money goes to Delaware's general fund.

In September, a 69-year-old Ellendale man refused to let his money go back to the state. He saw an article about a $50,000 Powerball prize that was sitting unclaimed for three months and was able to claim his money.

Meanwhile, the winner of the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history – the $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot drawn Oct. 23 – still has not come forward, lottery officials in South Carolina, where the ticket was bought, confirmed Tuesday.
