Handbell ensemble to perform May 6 at Mariner's Bethel

The Capital Ringers handbell group will perform "Ringin' Rhythms" in concert at Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 6 at 7 p.m.

Capital Ringers is a 501(c)(3) community English handbell ensemble. They entertain and educate audiences with a repertoire of rock, patriotic, sacred and current Top 40 performed on the largest set of handbells on Delmarva.

The group combines music from handbells and percussion with movement, audience interaction, humor and visual presentation to appeal to all ages.

The concert will include the selections "Classical Gas," "Dancing Queen," "Viva la Vida," and more.

The performance is free, but freewill offerings will be accepted.

Mariner's Bethel UMC is at 81 Central Avenue in Ocean View.

Founded by artistic director Linda Simms in 2004, Capital Ringers' mission is to promote the art and diversity of handbell and handchime ringing.

Capital Ringers is supported in part by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
