Walk historic Milton and learn about boats, buttons, beans, beer

The Milton Historical Society's Four B's tours begin at the Dogfish Head Brewery Steampunk Treehouse.

The Four Bs walking tour will return to Milton this summer.

The tour of the historic town will explain how boats, buttons, beans and beer were important to the development of the area.

The Milton Historical Society, which hosts the tour, will also present their collection of artifacts that tell the history of Milton and the Broadkill Hundred.

The tour departs from the Steampunk Tree in front of the Dogfish Head Brewery at 9:30 a.m. and lasts approximately 45 minutes. Tours are scheduled for May 27, June 10 and 17, July 1 and 15, Aug. 5 and 19 and Sept. 2 and 9, weather permitting.

Sturdy shoes, a hat, sunscreen and drinking water are recommended.

Parking is free in the open space next to the museum on Magnolia Street. The walking tour is free to society members, $5 cash or check for non-members. Space is limited. Call 302-684-1010 or email info@historicmilton.org to reserve a spot.

Admission to the museum is also free. The museum is open Wednesday 1:30-6:30 p.m. in June and July and Thursday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the rest of the year.
