Jimmy's Grille in Bridgeville has been recently put on the market.

Jimmy’s Grille, an iconic restaurant in Bridgeville that is a favorite of tourists and locals alike, is on the selling block.

Though details are sparse, Jack Lingo Realtor in Rehoboth Beach has the landmark restaurant listed for $1.7 million. An adjacent banquet hall is available for an added $475,000.

Jimmy’s Grille in Bridgeville has been owned by entrepreneur Alex Pires and his company, Highway One, since 2006.

Since they acquired the Bridgeville location, Highway One has opened a Jimmy’s Grille in Dewey Beach and Rehoboth Beach.

The restaurants all feature comfort food and are open seven days for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The restaurant’s motto: “Peace, Love and Chicken.”

Before Pires and Highway One, the Bridgeville restaurant had been owned by founder James “Jimmy” Tennefoss.

Pires, an attorney, also started Community Bank of Delaware and is owner of the Rusty Rudder and Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach.

According to the Lingo listing, the restaurant is “high profile, with a convenient location for local patrons and for capturing the pass-thru beach traffic.”

The listing said the restaurant seats 221 and has “three dining rooms, a house kitchen, a catering kitchen, huge catering area, numerous walk-in refrigerators, cold-prep areas, bakery, freezers, dry storage, furniture, fixtures & equipment — everything needed for a full service restaurant and catering."

The listing agent, Camilla Conlon, did not immediately respond to inquiries. Attempts to reach Pires and Highway One also were not immediately successful on Friday afternoon.
