Fire at Tanger Outlets in Rehoboth Beach damages Ralph Lauren store

Crews from Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Indian River responded to a structure fire at Polo in the Tanger Outlets near Midway on Coastal Highway around 4:20 a.m. Thursday morning.

A fire at a Polo Ralph Lauren store in the Tanger Outlets caused $5,000 worth of damage to the inside of the building Thursday, officials said.

Crews from Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Indian River responded to the Tanger Outlets around 4:20 a.m.

Firefighters found a fire in the storage area in the rear of the store, which was controlled by the sprinkler system, according to Harry Miller, chief deputy fire marshal. 

Investigators determined a malfunction of a light fixture started the fire. No injuries were reported.
