Jim Kiernan, Irish Eyes Pub and Restaurant founder, dies

Jim Kiernan, the founder of Irish Eyes Pub and Restaurant in Milton, died Monday, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.

In addition to being the founder of Irish Eyes Pub, Kiernan was a real estate professional, having served as chairman of the board for Coldwell Banker Resort Realty. He was also a developer and philanthropist.

Kiernan was proud of his Irish heritage and shared his love of all things Irish, the restaurant shared on its Facebook page.

"Despite his many accomplishments, he was most proud of his children, Jennifer and Jay Bastian, Kathy and Michael Newcomb, Maryellen and Amy Kiernan, grandchildren Molly, Matthew, Jake, Quint and Morgan and the light of his life, his wife Roxie," the restaurant said on their Facebook page.

A mass of Christian burial will take place Monday, April 9 at 1 p.m. at St. Edmond Catholic Church at 409 King Charles Ave, Rehoboth Beach, where friends may call beginning at 11am.

A reception will follow. The Lewes location will be closed all day Monday and Milton Irish Eyes will open at 5 p.m, the restaurant announced on its Facebook page.
