No, Punkin Chunkin is not back, but Big Chill Surf Cantina and Crooked Hammock Brewery are hosting a more hands-on alternative.

The event does not harbor cannons, catapults, slingshots or other machinery designed to launch pumpkins into oblivion, but its objective — to hurl a gourd through the air the farthest — still requires some elbow grease.

The 2nd Pumpkin' Chuckin' will take place Saturday, Nov. 10, from 1-5 p.m. at Big Chill Surf Cantina in Rehoboth Beach.

Competitors will be given two throws each and the person with the highest combined distance will be crowned the winner.

Attendance is free for spectators, and competitors can register online at https://www.facebook.com/events/1839853876128822/.

Chuckers must pay $10 to register. Event proceeds will benefit the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company.
