The old 7-Eleven in Rehoboth Beach is getting a java facelift: Opening in March 2019, the roundabout location will be the first Rise Up Coffee in Delaware.

"This is the first time we've crossed state lines," Rise Up founder and CEO Tim Cureton said. "I felt like for years that Rehoboth would be perfect for us and that Rise Up would be perfect for Rehoboth, so finally the stars have aligned."

Having coffee on the menu goes without saying, but Cureton said the Mad Eggs menu, a mostly breakfast-filled staple at the shop, will expand into a full menu throughout the day, including dinner.

Rise Up Rehoboth will also have a bar, a first for the Maryland-based company that was created by Cureton, a Salisbury University graduate.

"We can partner with all our brewery buddies and do some fun collaborations," Cureton added.

The walkable and bikable nature of Rehoboth Beach makes it a "dream Rise Up location," he said. Plus, the parking lot has over 20 spaces. Cureton plans to have dedicated smart car spots with charging stations as well.

The 2,500 square-foot building will be Rise Up's ninth location. Cureton said he is shooting to open the Rehoboth shop by St. Patrick's Day.
