Ocean City's Sunfest announces headliner

The Diamonds perform to a packed crowd Saturday, September 20 as Sunfest 2014 ensues at the Ocean City inlet.

With spring in full swing, Ocean City’s Sunfest announced this year’s headliner.

Chris Janson is set to headline the Friday night portion of the 42nd annual Sunfest, according to a town press release.

Janson has written hits for Tim McGraw, Hank Williams, Jr. and Joe Nichols, according to the release. He also released the song “Buy Me a Boat,” which sent him to number one on iTune’s country chart.

He will perform on the stage inside Sunfest Entertainment Pavillion at 8 p.m. September 23, according to the release.

Fans can begin buying tickets starting Friday, March 25 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Ocean City Convention Center Box Office on 40th Street. Box office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets can also be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-551-7328.

Sunfest is a four-day festival with arts, crafts, live music and food at the Inlet Lot and beach in Ocean City. The event is slated for Sept. 22 through 25 this year, and admission is free.
