Your Pie offers quick, custom-made pizza
Your Pie, the newest pizza shop in Salisbury, is working to streamline the way people eat, all the while bringing them fresh pairings.Your Pie opened Sept. 23 at the Centre in Salisbury, right next to the movie theater.
Co-owner Kirtan Patel owns several businesses in town, although Your Pie is his first restaurant.
Patel said he wanted to try out this type of business, so he began his process by researching several franchises. He did not like the concepts of most he came in contact with, but finally, he settled on pizza and from there found Your Pie.
“Everyone likes pizza,” Patel said.
While Salisbury is not unaccustomed to pizza places (the city features restaurants such as Little Caesars, Specific Gravity Pizzeria and Beer Joint and Paul’s Pizza and Subs), Your Pie is doing things a little differently.
“It’s different than traditional pizza places,” Patel said.
At Your Pie, Patel explained, they have an “in-line” system similar to Subway or Chipotle, where employees make customers’ food right in front of them as they pick it out.
For pizza, customers can pick their dough, sauce, cheese and toppings. Next, the pizza goes in a 550-degree oven which cooks it in four to five minutes.
“By the time you fill up your drinks and sit down, your pizza is at your table,” Patel said.
Your Pie is also unique because although it is a franchise, the headquarters allows each location to buy produce locally. This means ingredients going on the pizzas can be fresh and contribute to the local economy.
“We can even go directly to the farmers if we want to,” Patel said.
Likewise, all the pizza sauces are handmade on the property.
All the pizzas are one fixed price and size, just like the salads and paninis. Patel said he believes customers like the setup because it makes things simpler, and now they can just focus on what is going in the food.
Also unlike most pizza places, Your Pie offers a beer and wine collection to pair with customers’ food.
“It’s a good food pairing,” Patel said. “It gives people a choice.”
Your Pie is open every day of the week, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
