The Ocean City Police and Fire departments responded to 14th Street Thursday after a report of an unconscious person in the bay.

Officers discovered that the victim, an unidentified 24-year-old male of Hazelton, Pennsylvania had dived from the bulkhead into the bay, police said. The victim was brought onto a boat thanks to the efforts of several good Samaritans, and taken to a nearby pier to meet responding officers and paramedics, police said.

He was then transported by Ocean City EMS to Atlantic General Hospital, and later flown by the Maryland State Police Trooper 4 helicopter to Johns Hopkins Medical Campus where he is currently in critical condition, police said.
