The National Folk Festival is coming to Downtown Salisbury on Sept. 7-9, and city officials are beginning a series of parking lot and street closures now through next week.

The National Folk Festival is a large, three-day, outdoor festival and is the longest running multicultural celebration in the nation. Every three years the National Folk Festival moves locations to a new host city, and this September it’s coming to Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
In advance of the Festival, multiple street and lot closures will be necessary in downtown Salisbury. These closures will occur throughout the course of the upcoming week. The city has done outreach to communicate these closures with downtown businesses. Parkers with permits downtown have been notified of where to park if/when their lot closes.

The majority of street closures will occur Friday morning, Sept. 7, at 6 a.m. Any cars left on streets within the footprint of the festival must be gone by this time, as hard barricades will close the footprint.

This map shows street and parking lot closures during the National Folk Festival.
