Whether an eatery is breaking ground or opening its doors to customers, the city will see plenty of culinary changes this year.

Delmarva Now complied a list of some of the restaurants to dine in or watch its development through 2019.

Note: this is not an all encompassing list. Delmarva Now will continue to watch for other restaurants coming to Salisbury in 2019.

The beer garden planned for downtown Salisbury's East Market Street is aiming for a summer opening, said Taylor Rockwell, manager.

The beer garden is in the building permit stage. When they are approved, building process will begin, Rockwell said.

"The atmosphere will feel like community," he explained. "We want to create a comfortable place for family and friends to meet, hang out and enjoy being outside on the water in downtown Salisbury."

Children and dogs are welcome to join the fun. The beer garden will offer a mix of food and drinks, inspired by German staples and Eastern Shore favorites.

Cactus Taverna's next concept

This development at 500 Riverside in Salisbury will feature a new restaurant with rooftop bar, plus retail and office spaces.

Cactus Taverna owners Imad Abu-Ahmadeh and Ike Esoud are bringing a new restaurant concept to the upcoming complex being built at 500 Riverside Drive.

The pair plan to open a new restaurant and banquet facility with a rooftop eating area and bar. They paid $650,000 in 2017 for the 3-acre property occupying a prominent spot along the Wicomico River waterfront.

The 10,000-square-foot restaurant will serve as an anchor for the 500 Riverside Drive development that will include a mix of retail, restaurant and office spaces.

Keith Fisher, who is the architect on the project, expects to get building permits by fall 2019, with construction starting in 2020.
