'Heavily intoxicated' man kicked in Salisbury apartment door, assaulted woman: Police

From Staff Reports

A man police say was “heavily intoxicated” kicked in the front door of a Salisbury apartment and assaulted a woman faces assault and burglary charges.

Maryland State Police said troopers responded to Parkwood Apartments on Beaglin Park Drive on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 11:38 p.m. to a complaint for “an adult disorderly male refusing to leave an apartment there.”

Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with the adult female victim and the suspect, identified as Brian James Davidson. Troopers observed the front door jamb of the apartment was broken, valued at $100. Investigation revealed Davidson to be heavily intoxicated, police said.

Police said Davidson did not live there, and had kicked in the front door, entered the victim’s apartment, and assaulted the victim by grabbing her shirt and chest. Troopers saw red marks on the victim’s neck and chest consistent with her statements, the release said.

The victim also stated Davidson had locked the bedroom doors, preventing her from locking herself in a room, to get away from him. Davidson was also blocking passage between the victim and the exterior door, police said.

Troopers had also responded to the apartment earlier in the day and “had given the suspect a lawful order not to return to the residence,” the release said.

Davidson was arrested and charged with  third-degree burglary, second-degree assault, false imprisonment, malicious destruction of property and intoxicated endangerment.
