The smokehouse of Ocean City has made it to Salisbury.

Pit & Pub in Salisbury, located at 1147 South Salisbury Blvd., opened its doors in mid-April to positive response. The new location is operated by David Knestout and Stephen Masten, previous employees of Pit & Pub at Ocean City locations, who broke out on their own to expand the brand.

“We wanted to open our own business,” Masten said.

Masten said after so many years being in the business and learning the ropes it felt like the next natural step. With the support of the Pit & Pub team, they went looking for the perfect Salisbury location.

The South Salisbury location fit what the business duo were looking for. The spot puts Pit & Pub across from Salisbury University and surrounded by multiple businesses.

The interior of the space had some changes made to it including an updated and expanded dining room space and kitchen upgrades. Masten said the goal was to offering a welcoming atmosphere for customer to come in, enjoy a good meal and watch some sports on the multiple televisions throughout the restaurant.

The interior is the perfect complement to barbecue dishes with dark wood accents, plenty of seating and southern decorations.

Masten said so far business has been great with families coming in for dinner and workers grabbing lunch throughout the day.

“Things have been great. I think we’ve been received well in Salisbury,” he said.

The eatery serves the same menu as the other two Pit & Pub locations at 2706 Philadelphia Ave and 12701 Coastal Highway, Suite 8, in Ocean City. Masten said the only difference is some variations to the cocktail menu.

Pit & Pub's menu various meats made in their smoker like pulled pork, beef brisket and and pulled BBQ chicken. Different sandwiches and combo plates are also available.

The new location of Pit n' Pub is now open at 1147 S. Salisbury Blvd, Suite 5.

All restaurants also do daily happy hour from 3-6 p.m.

The Salisbury location will offer exclusive half-priced specials from 6-9 p.m. daily during the summer, Masten said. Specials are as follows:
