Kari Lake tells her supporters to 'strap on a Glock' to prepare for the election

WASHINGTON - Arizona GOP Senate candidate Kari Lake urged her supporters to “strap on a Glock,” a popular handgun , to prepare themselves for an “intense” election period ahead.

“The next six months is going to be intense,” Lake said during a rally Sunday in Mohave County. “We’re going to strap on our seatbelt. We’re going to put on our helmet — or your Kari Lake ball cap. We are going to put on the armor of God. And maybe strap on a Glock on the side of us just in case.”

Lake, a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, has repeatedly spread false claims that the 2020 election was stolen. She said at the rally that there needs to be people in Washington, D.C. that the “swamp does not want there.” 

“And I can think of a couple people they don’t want there. First on that list is Donald J. Trump; second is Kari Lake,” she said.

Lake has made similar remarks in the past. Last year, she told her supporters that if anyone wants to get to Trump, they have to get to her and 75 million Americans like her. 

“And I’m going to tell you, most of us are card-carrying members of the N.R.A. (National Rifle Association),” she said.

Though Lake’s name has been bounced around as a potential running mate for Trump, the former president’s campaign has yet to make a vice president announcement.
