No wind farm, no reason to visit OC

Not that Harris would understand this, but I would be more inclined to travel to Ocean City to marvel at the future of our energy supply.

I’ve been in Maryland for college for three years, yet nothing has drawn me to the vacation destination of Ocean City.

But an Ocean City acting as the home to wind turbines would, in fact, give me a reason to travel there.

From the perspective of a millennial, who cares deeply about the environment and the future of our planet, a wind farm in Ocean City would provide me a hopeful vision for the future.

This wind farm would not only provide jobs to Marylanders, it would provide a strong source of clean energy.

It is disheartening to a millennial like myself that Congressman Andy Harris so openly thumbs his nose at the future of renewables in our overall energy supply.

His decision to fight this wind program feels disrespectful to my generation – we want a livable planet, and renewables are the next step.

Harris is not in touch with what the next generation wants – or what our view is for our Earth.

We know climate change is real and we know we need to act right now.

We want renewables – we don’t want coal.

We want clean jobs that are equitable and accessible.

Not that Harris would understand this, but I would be more inclined to travel to Ocean City to marvel at the future of our energy supply in the form of turbines, but if he continues to fight to shut this project down, I will never see any reason to visit Ocean City.
