If you thought a horse was running down Route 113 in Georgetown Tuesday morning, you weren't imagining it.

Bailey ran for nearly 3 miles before two pedestrians saw the chocolate brown horse outside the Harvest Diner, according to Georgetown Police Detective Joseph Melvin.

Georgetown Police Officer Derrick Calloway waits for Bailey's owner to show up, after the horse escaped and went for a run down Route 113 on Tuesday morning.

Georgetown officers were dispatched to the diner and found that Bailey was secured by the pedestrians, so no hoof-cuffs were needed. Officers stood by until Bailey's owner arrived, and traffic was not impacted by the galloping jaywalker.

"We’ve had animals get loose before," Melvin said. "It doesn’t happen every day but you never what you’re going to get into with this job."
