Revelation beer garden coming to Hudson Fields

Attention Sussex County locals: You won't have to schlep all the way to Rehoboth Beach to sip on Revelation craft brews this summer.

The West Rehoboth brewery will soon be on tap at Hudson Fields in Milton, where Revelation announced plans to open a beer garden from June to September.

"It's a great spot for local families," said Harry Metcalfe, who co-owns Revelation with Patrick Staggs.

The summertime gathering place, to be open Friday through Sunday, will have indoor and outdoor seating. A mix of food trucks and live music will also grace Revelation's beer garden, which will have at least eight brews on tap at all times.

Trying out Delaware's newest brewery, Revelation Craft Brewing Company.

The brewing company posted on Facebook, “With the Revelation Beer Garden at Hudson Fields, team members hope to provide residents from Milford, Milton, Lincoln, Lewes and surrounding areas a comfortable and entertaining space for all ages, while providing the adults with great beer without having to fight the stress-inducing seasonal traffic."

Cornhole will be offered — no surprise there, given Revelation's southern Delaware roots — as well as giant Jenga and other games.

"We’re just really excited to have a reoccurring pop-up beer garden," said Julie Hudson of Hudson Fields. "I think it’ll be popular and well-received."

She said Hudson Fields teamed up with Revelation to revive the foodie-fest concept the venue had been host to over the years.

Part of the proceeds go to Camp Barnes, a nonprofit run by Delaware State Police that aims to combat juvenile delinquency through summer camp. Revelation donated $2,600 to the organization at a benefit in March.

Expect the beer garden to open in early June. Find it in and around the Eagle Crest hangars adjacent to the field off Coastal Highway.

This isn't Revelation's first expansion in the last year. In December 2018, the company announced it was purchasing the site of former 16 Mile Brewery, a 9-year-old Georgetown landmark that abruptly shuttered in October.

Staggs said a kitchen space for a restaurant and an outdoor seating area will be added to the Georgetown location.

"Having started in Rehoboth on a smaller site gave us an opportunity to focus on the beer and build a reputation of being beer-forward first," Metcalfe said.
