After spending months in Wilmington interviewing residents and family members of a 15-year-old boy murdered in 2016, NPR's "Invisibilia" podcast recently released an episode re-examining the high-profile killing.

The episode, titled "Post, Shoot," digs into how social media played a role in the death of Brandon Wingo, a freshman at Howard High School of Technology who was shot in the head as he walked home from school on Clifford Brown Walk.

On the show, hosts Alix Spiegel and Hanna Rosin speak to city residents and Wingo's friends, along with his family, including father Brad. (You can read a transcript of the podcast at npr.org.)

When asked what he thinks about a social media post being the spark leading to his son's death, Brad Wingo can still only shake his head three years later, telling "Invisibilia," "I feel that's got to be the dumbest s---t I've ever heard. It just don't make sense to me. I'm totally lost."

The News Journal covered both Wingo's murder and the trial that ensued.
